About

The Kyungpook National University Church Daegu (KNUC) foundation is dated back to 1955 with the construction of a Christian Center by its founding members, with the support of 4 nations, local Christian churches, and other local efforts. The center baptized 22 students living within its dormitories at that time.

Currently the church has grown with its responsibility to minister to a campus with over 35,000 students, its staff, faculty, and employees.  The church being uniquely located on university property in Daegu, but outside the campus walls; gives it the added mission of being a tool that God can use in reaching the surrounding community. The church’s reach also extends abroad through its efforts to administer God’s love to a foreign student population from Ethiopia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Zimbabwe, China, Russia, Mongolia, India, Nepal, Canada, the United States and other nations.

The church has a rich history of divine favor from God, demonstrated by the support given to KNUC by many local churches and even from abroad.

Daegu KNUC has an English church service, along with English speaking bible studies (some Korean translation), outreach, fellowship meetings, and other events at or around the campus in Daegu.  The church embraces God’s children from around the world.  Kyungpook National University Church English Fellowship (KNUCEF) believes in the bible, and when properly translated; its inerrancy.  We certainly can agree with the essence of creeds such as the Nicene, and Apostles Creeds; but will not be bound by any shortsightedness, because great is the mystery of Godliness (I Tim. 3:16).  We share and have fellowship based on our communion in Lord Jesus Christ and holding to essentials of Christian doctrine.  The non-essentials are also important to live spiritual rich lives and to demonstrate a love of God by obedience; therefore these we teach and preach, yet seek not to divide with our brethren over misunderstandings of such because love is preeminent.   We  believe love to be the greatest of commandments (Mat. 22:37-39), along with its application in a later commandment (Joh. 13:34-35).

Daegu KNUC supports and cooperates with local churches, Campus Crusade for Christ (CCC), CMI, DFC, DSM, ESF, ISF, InterCP, IVF, JDM, LWM, Navigator, SFC, and YWAM, along with the campus’s Christian groups and associations.
